FAUVE ≠ MAGENTA

FAUVE ≠ is an anonymous artist collective founded in Paris in 2010. Up to 2015, The twenty members have released two studio albums, one vinyl record, two singles and two EPs.

Their genre is a mix between rock, electronic music and spoken world. The FAUVE ≠ beats are really well elaborated. Their trappy vibes create a lightly industrial ambiance. The lyrics also play a major role in each of their tracks. Every word is made out to be particularly poetic.

Their main themes are adolescence and early adulthood, existential crisis, humanity etc… The outcome is not only gloomy but also a little mystic.

They do for sure paint modern Paris and its youth, not only with the electronic touches but especially with the slammer's soft, fractious, cocky yet naïve voice.

The group had great success by the year 2014 and up to 2018. Tracks like Blizzard, Rub a Dub, and Voyou have gone viral, and they’re totally worth it, but our favorites are Cock music, Paraffine, Jeunesse Talking Blues, Nuits Fauves, Loterie... In fact, Vieux Frères Partie 1 and Partie 2 are two hell of albums.

By 2015, Fauve ≠ split. In 2019, they came back with a whole new project called Magenta, trying to blend the new trend, with minimalistic electronic noises and empty lyrics.

However, Gerogio came out… He was featured on Voyou and blew up with his own songs later on… Hera, L’or de sa Vapeur Rouge, Rose Noire… And, that, is a story for another time...
